For all those followers of GoslingProductions and GrandMA users alike, I wanted to let you all know that MA Lighting has recently released the GrandMA2!

Unlike the GrandMA Fullsize, the GrandMA2 range boasts an impressive new look with new features and an upgraded software and networking backbone.

The fullsize console boasts some fantastic new characteristics such as the capability to control up to 65, 536 parameters per session, 32 possible sessions with up to 200 stations per session, an enhanced multi user mode with an extra touch screen for programming and colour mixing purposes (9″ command monitor), three 15.4″ touch screen displays with two external outputs available, a motorize fader wing and a whole lot of other features which you will have to check out!

GoslingProductions has not yet had the chance to work with the GrandMA 2, but hopes to do so in the near future to further develop the companies vision about integrating any solution to create truly unique events. If the GrandMA Fullsize was anything to go by, this new and improved GrandMA2 with a stronger networking backbone, new interfaces and improved software will be a delight to use!

The 2008 Adelaide Fringe has come and gone, and it has been a busy time for GoslingProductions.

The first show on the list was an outdoor event in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens and was a classic shakespearean performance of “As You Like It”. With a fantastic cast, it was a priviliage to work on such a prestegious show. As the performance was outdoors in a amphitheatre like setting, there was no sound needed but a simple array of open white lighting fixtures. Positioned in the OP Tree were two 500W Mini Fresnels. Positioned in the Prompt tree were two open white Par64’s, with another set of standard 100W globes for house light. Along the front of the performance area were another three 500W mini fresnels, with three 1K fresnels on push up stands positioned along the back of the audience seating area. There was also a boom arm with 2 Par 64’s, 1 mini fresnel and 1 source 4 profile for extra side fill. The whole array was run off a Jands HP Dimmer and controlled off a 12/24 LSC Atom desk from backstage.

GoslingProductions must thank the fantastic cast for the continual support during the event, as a bump-in and bump-out was required every night after every show! The performances were a huge success, despite the noise pollution from the Clipsal500 and the Garden of Unearthly Delights.

The second show that GoslingProductions was engaged in was “A Bit Of Swing, Blues & Broadway” by Citrus Entertainment at the Stag Hotel. Sound was the topic of investigation for this event, as the hotel had some previously installed pinspots and Acme iColour4’s in the room. Running off  Mackie 16 channel control desk, with compressors, effects, amps, and a cross over positioned in the rack below, the control system powered two FOH EV 1000W speakers, and four foldback wedges for the 5 piece band. The band consisted of a saxophone, trumpet, double bass, drum kit and keys with vocals by organiser Chris Eaton. Signals were returned through a 20 loom XLR Multicore and were mixed accordingly.

The event was a huge success, with packed out houses on all three nights of the cabaret event. GoslingProductions were privilaged to work on such a high calibre performance and look forward to working with Citrus Entertainment again on future shows.

Today GoslingProductions was priviliaged to be invited to a private training session to learn more about the intricacies of media servers, and mixing video with both pre-defined vision mixers and combining it through cat-5 servers and switches in conjunction with consoles such as the grandMA or grandMA2.

The training was a valuable insight into the tips and tools of troubleshooting RGBHV connectivity problems, VGA-RGBHV conversion issues, or amplifying RGBHV signals to spread over a number of output sources.

The visionmixer was a SmartFade, with a DVD and three monitors being actively viewed (two for preview, one for live output).

GoslingProductions has just returned from the Unleash Your Marketing GeniusMarketing Seminar at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia. Run and organized byStephen Pierce International, the seminar showcased some of the worlds mostinnovative and successful Internet Marketers infront of a crowd of around 230people.

Speakers such as Stephen Pierce, Alan Forrest Smith, Nikhil Parekh, Andrew & Daryl, Janet Switzer, Ken “The Storm” Shimitzu, Melissa Hewetson, and many more were impressed with the professionalism of the GoslingProduction crew. Some of their testimonials include:

GoslingProductions was called upon to Liase with event staff from

Norwest Productions, Chameleon Lighting & Big Picture Productions for the duration of the event. Norwest Productions supplied all sound equipment, and the show was run off a Yamaha PM1D Digital Console. Lighting (consisting of 4 x Mac700, 8 x Selecon 1.5K Fresnels & Source 4’s) was controlled off a Jands Hog 1000. Vision was controlled off a vision mixer with signals from laptops on stage and at OP’s to two Barco projectors positioned behind two snap-lock rear projection screens.

A problem that was found early on in the seminar was trying to get the 230 participants on the Internet (which was supplied by The PA People). 8 Wireless routers were positioned around the room and connected to a central server,
however various problems were encountered with different Operating Systems (XP, Vista, Mac) conflicting with overcrowded ports and routers. A solution was needed, and some 100 + hardwired connections were run from server sub-stations around the room to the participants. The problems were ironed out thanks to the fantastic work of The PA People and their IT team, so GoslingProductions would like to give a special thankyou to them for a job well done!

Having worked with Stephen Pierce International on previous occassions, it was a privilage to work with them again as a liason between International Speakers and Production crews.
